After conducting several trials in the Medway area in June to attract new players and playing two friendlies in August, the new venture as TAFC under 16 Central started with a home fixture on Sunday 2nd September against Ebbsfleet. Before the start of the season the management knew it would be a hard season and the match against Ebbsfleet proved to be the case. Although we lost 4-1 to a very strong Ebbsfleet team, the attitude and commitment from our players was first class.

The following week we were away to Holland and Blair. We had previously played H & B in a pre season friendly and lost the game 3-2 after being 3-0 down after 10 minutes. The league game against H & B was very similar as they took a deserved 1-0 half time lead but TAFC fought back and equalised with free kick from Dan Knights. However H & B scored the winner with only a few minutes remaining. This was a terrible hammer blow to all connected with the club as we knew we should have won the game or at least got a point.

After starting the season with two defeats our next game was at home to local rivals Chatham Town . Battling against a strong wind in the first half TACFC found themselves 1-0 down again at half time but after the break TAFC poured forwards and in the end thoroughly deserved the victory of 2-1. This was a very important result for everyone connected at the club. The victory meant we were up and running and could look forward to the rest of the season with no fear.

After a win in the Challenge Cup against Sheppey Utd and a well deserved draw against Dartford in the league, TAFC were bought down to earth with a 3-0 reverse in the league against Corinthian and a 4-1 reverse in the Challenge Cup against Bromley.

It was important that in last weeks game against Bearsted we obtained the right result. With George Crimmen selected for the Kent County team, TAFC won the game 2-0 with two excellent goals in the second half.

In conclusion our season so far has been like a rollercoaster ride, up one minute down the next. We are currently fifth in the league after playing most of the top teams and we look forward to the rest of the season with high hopes.
