Tonbridge Angels 4
- 0 Cray Wanderers
With this win
Angels extended their lead at the top of the Kent Youth League to
6 points. However they nearly conceded after 4 minutes when the
Cray forward shot past the post when it seemed easier to score.
It took until the 18 th minute for Angels to fashion their first
chance when Jack Leeson shot wide. Tonbridge took the lead after
27 minutes when a Leeson cross found Matt Green who made no mistake.
Shortly afterwards Leeson hit the side netting and then after a
scramble in the Cray goal mouth Mikey Foreman finished from close
in. Before half time the Cray goalkeeper made three excellent one
handed saves from Foreman and Green. Angels started the second half
with a couple of Green chances and then on 16 minutes Brett Milham
extended the lead with an unstoppable free kick. Tonbridge continued
to control the game and eventually Ed Sharman found Milham who coolly
finished.

Fisher Athletic 1
- 0 Tonbridge Angels
This game was
extremely tight with very few chances being made by either side
and was eventually decided by a soft penalty. Angels had the first
chance but a Brett Milham free kick was easily saved. It took until
the 19 th minute for the next chance when Ed Sharman just shot wide.
Fisher’s first meaningful chance came 10 minutes later but Lewis
Carey made a good one handed save. Then five minutes before half
time there was amazement when a penalty was awarded for pushing
against Tonbridge. The resulting spot kick was driven in to the
net. In the second half Angels marginally had the control but the
only testing shot came from a Jack Funnell free kick. It was disappointing
not getting anything out of this match which they deserved, however
Angels remain top of the league and must pick themselves up to stay
there. |

Tonbridge Angels 0
- 1 Welling United
Both goalkeepers
played well in a game that Angels let slip away. After a shaky opening
five minutes Angels had the better of the opportunities as twice
Mikey Foreman broke through only to be thwarted by fines saves.
Tonbridge however did not have that competitive edge and when they
lost the ball up front Welling counter attacked quickly to score
in the 32nd minute. In the second period Angels showed more steel
but not enough to turn it around. There where good chances made
from Jack Funnell and Jack Leeson but again the goal keeper did
well. Lewis Carey made an excellent on handed save to keep Tonbridge
with a chance but it was not to be. |

Tonbridge Angels 0
- 2 Bromley
Kent
Cup Quarter Final
Angels bowed out of this year’s Kent Cup in a game that they never
played as they can. Early on Bromley hit the post but shortly afterwards
Josh Thorneycroft had a shot saved. In the 25 th minute a mistake
in the Angels defence allowed the Bromley forward to race clear
and score. Then five minutes later a speculative cross turned into
the perfect lob as it beat Lewis Carey in the Tonbridge goal. Just
before half time Eddie Sharman forced a good save out of the Bromley
keeper. In the second half, try as Angels might, they could not
create many chances with the best falling to Brett Milham.
