Tonbridge Angels 4-1 Battlebridge
Tonbridge Angels got their league season off to a great start by beating Battlebridge 4-1. Angels' first goal came from Patrick Salako after some good work down the left by Connor Ward & Luke French. Sloppy defending allowed Battlebridge back in at 1-1 at half time.
Angels started to play the passing football we know they can play in the second half, with French scoring from the spot. Ben Boodle got the 3rd with a great chip over the goalkeeper. After some good work by Daryl Brown & Alfie Leslie, both making their debuts, set up Felix Curtis for the 4th Angels goal.
Excellent all round team performance.
Goal scorers: Patrick Salako, Luke French, Ben Boodle & Felix Curtis

Tonbridge Angels 1-6 Selsdon Juniors

Tonbridge Angels put in a really good performance against A division side Selsdon Juniors in the Surrey Cup. Angels rode their luck for the first 10 minutes, and then began to play some good football. Luke French put the Angels in front after 20 minutes, Selsdon levelled just before half-time. The second half, with both teams playing good passing football, chances where aplenty for both sides. Unfortunately Tonbridge did not convert theirs and Selsdon ran out 6-1 winners.

Tonbridge Angels 4-0 Chipstead Pumas
From the kick off Tonbridge Angels had control of the game. With their short passing, determination and ball skills, they did everything but score. The second half got off to a faster pace, first to score was Patrick Salako with a blinding left foot shot. Second goal came from William Lynn nipping in at the far post. Defence held strong, with some good tackling by Sammy Burton, Ryan Moran, Harry Gill (Man of the Match). Charlie Wilson gave away a penalty which Adam Treharne stopped with a blinding save. Another goal each by Salako and Lynn gave the Angels a 4-0 win. A really good all round team effort.
Goal scorers: Patrick Salako (2), William Lynn (2)

Tonbridge Angels 4-1 Darwin
Angels continued their winning start in the league this season with their 3rd straight win, again scoring 4 goals. Patrick Salako got the first, James Annely the second, his first for the club, before Darwin pulled one back. William Lynn and Felix Curtis made it 4-1 at half time. Tonbridge, although not playing well, continued to create the chances with Man of the Match, Michael Dale working his socks of in the midfield. But for the Darwin keeper, who was outstanding, the Angels would have scored more goals.

Redhill Town 2-4 Tonbridge Angels
On a wet & windy Sunday in Redhill, Angels won their 4th straight win, scoring 4 goals again.
Oliver Markides got the first after 15 minutes, Alfie Leslie made it 2 nil after 20 min, both scoring their first goals for the club. Redhill pulled 1 goal back 5 minutes later. Angels where unlucky not to be 3-1 up at half time when Ben Browning’s long-range effort hit the bar. Second half, with the wind and rain against the Angels, they continued to make chances, with Patrick Salako making it 3-1. Redhill pulled another goal back 3-2, but Man of the Match Connor Ward made it 4-2 and also had a goal disallowed. All in all a very good all round team performance.

Spitfire Colts FC 1-5 Tonbridge Angels
Tonbridge Angels travelled to West Wickham on Sunday to play Spitfire Colts, always a keenly fought game and this one was no different. Angels had some good early chances but it was Spitfire who took the lead midway through the first half. Michael Dale got the Angels back in the game with his first goal for the club, 1-1 at half time. The second half, with the wind with the Angels, it was a different game, with the ball on the floor, pass and move football, Angels took control of the game. Man of the Match, Luke French with 2 goals (the first was an excellent team goal), further goals from William Lynn and Patch Salako, ment Angels ran out 5-1 winners.

Darwin Athletic 5-4 Tonbridge Angels
Angels played Darwin Athletic away in the League Shield, and were very unlucky to lose a nine-goal thriller against a side from a high division. Angels were 2 goals down within 10 minutes, but fought back with goals from Ben Browning & William Lynn. Darwin then made it 3-2; Luke French made 3-3 at half time. In the second half Angels again conceded 2 early goals; William Lynn pulled 1 back to make it 5-4. Angels did everything but score the 5th goal that they deserved. The Darwin manager said after the game, he did not know how his team had won.

Tonbridge Invicta Spitfires 2-2 Tonbridge Angels
A top of the table clash with Angels away to Invicta. Playing with the wind, it was Invicta who had the better of the early chances, with the Angels taking their time to get going - they went a goal down after about 18 minutes. Invicta’s lead was short-lived with Connor Ward & Man of the Match, Joe Paisley running the midfield; it was Paisley who played an excellent ball out to Luke French whose cross was met by William Lynn. 1-1 at halftime. Angels began the second half where they finished the first, playing football on the ground, pass and move. Ben Browning’s free kick from the left was met by Patch Salako who made it 2-1 to the Angels. Invicta made it 2-2 late on against the run of play, but the Angels could not get the winner their play deserved.

Tonbridge Angels 6-1 Redhill Town
I know they are clichés - 'It's a funny old game' and 'A game of 2 halves', but today's game against Redhill really was a game of 2 halves. In the first half Tonbridge struggled to put 3 passes together, and only got into the Redhill penalty box about 5 times; they were lucky to be just 1-0 down at half time against a Town side that battled for every ball. Making a few changes at half time made a big difference - within 3 minutes of the restart Patch Salako made it 1-1. With Connor Ward, Ollie Markides, Luke French and Man of the Match, Michael Dale running the midfield with quick passing football, the Angels were a completely different team. With further goals from French (2), Dale, William Lynn and a well taken spot kick from Ben Browning, Angels ran out 6-1 winners.
It really was 'A game of 2 halves'.
Goal scorers: Luke French (2), Patch Salako, Michael Dale, William Lynn and Ben Browning

Selsdon Rangers B 1-5 Tonbridge Angels
Angels progressed into the next round of the League Trophy, the team were not at their best but still ran out 5-1 winners against a spirited Selsdon Rangers. Patch Salako opened the scoring after Selsdon had made the better start, Angels seemed to want to walk the ball in the net rather than shoot. Michael Dale made it 2-0 at half time with a cool finish when one on one with the keeper. James Annely made it 3-0 early in the second half, before Selsdon pulled one goal back. Luke French made it 4-1 with a cracker in the top corner. Sub, Ben Boodle made it 5-1. Man of the Match, Charlie Wilson was very solid at the back with the rest of the defence, and Ben Browning playing in goal for the first time this season.

Chipstead Jaguars 0-3 Tonbridge Angels
Tonbridge Angels have made it 8 wins, 1 draw in 9 league games so far this season, with a very comfortable 3-0 win over Chipstead Jaguars. The score does not reflect the Angels dominance in a very one-sided game. Adam Treharne, in goal, only had one shot on target to save, and the defence were outstanding. Alfie Leslie opened the scoring after good work down the right from Man of the Match, Callum Luckett and Luke French, who were out standing all game. Luckett and French again worked the opening for Daryl Brown to score his first goal of the season midway through the first half. French made it 3-0 from the spot just before half time.

Darwin Evolution 1-3 Tonbridge Angels
Tonbridge Angels are still unbeaten in the league after a hard fought win over a spirited Darwin. The pitch was more conducive to rugby rather than football and with swirling wind it did not suit the Angels passing game. Oliver Markides was unlucky not to score when the keeper made a good save after about 15 mins. Connor Ward opened the scoring with an excellent finish after some good play from Callum Luckett and Luke French down the right. The second half, Angels started to get to grips with the conditions. Michael Dale finished of an excellent move involving Sammie Burton and French. Darwin pulled a goal back after a mix up at the back. Alfie Leslie was outstanding all game, working tirelessly down the left. Man of the Match, William Lynn made it 3-1 to the Angels.

Selsdon Rangers B 0-3 Tonbridge Angels
Tonbridge Angels played probably their best game of the season so far, with one touch passing and pass and move football. OK the score does not reflect it, but they completely outplayed a well-organised Selsdon team. From Treharne in goal, a defence of Luckett, Wilson, Burton and Browning were outstanding. The midfield of Paisley, Ward, Leslie and Markides were superb with their movement on and off the ball. Up front Will Lynn and Michael Dale were a constant threat all game. The subs played well when they came on in the game. Dale got 2 goals in the first half; the first with an excellent finish. Alfie Leslie got the third in the second half. Man of the Match, Oliver Markides was excellent all game, making one goal and creating numerous other chances.

Old Coulsdon Jets 0-11 Tonbridge Angels
Tonbridge Angels 3-0 Old Coulsdon Jets
Tonbridge Angels travelled to Coulsdon, for what should have been a double header against Old Couslsdon Jets. The first match was all one-way traffic with the Angels creating chance after chance, many coming from the right wing where Oliver Markides and Man of the Match, Connor Ward were running riot against a confused Jets defence. With goals from Michael Dale (4), Callum Luckett and Ben Boodle it was 6-0 at halftime. The second half was much like the first, with chances being created at will, with further goals from Luckett, Ward, Daryl Brown, James Annely and Patch Salako, who's been out for 5 weeks with injury. But for the Jets keeper, the Angels would have run out bigger winners than 11-0.
Couslsdon's manager gave the Angels the second match.

Tunbridge Wells Foresters 1-4 Tonbridge Angels
Tonbridge Angels 2-0 Tunbridge Wells Foresters
Tonbridge Angels travelled to Tunbridge Wells on Sunday for a double header against third place Foresters, a local derby plus a potential banana skin for the undefeated Angels. On a small pitch with a slope the Angels started well, creating several good chances but not taking them. Foresters' first real attack, Angels found themselves a goal down - was this going to be the one when it all goes wrong? No, up popped Luke French with a good individual goal, Michael Dale got 2nd with a cool finish, Alfie Leslie got the 3rd - 3-1 at halftime. Joe Paisley made it 4-1 in the second half.
In the second match Tonbridge made some changes, with Ben Browning going in goal. Angels made the most of the slope, with Dale getting 2 more goals to continue his scoring run. James Annely played his best game for the Angels with some powerful runs but he was unlucky not to score. Browning made a couple of good saves at the end to keep a clean sheet in a good 2-0 win, which guarantees the Angels win promotion, with 5 games still to play.
WELL DONE TO THE TEAM!
Goal scorers: First match - Luke French, Michael Dale, Alfie Leslie, Joe Paisley

Tonbridge Angels 1-4 Spitfire Colts FC
Tonbridge Angels remain unbeaten in the league this season with a comfortable 4-1 win over Spitfire Colts. After creating numerous chances but not converting them, it was Ben Browning who opened the scoring with a neat little flick that went in off the bar from Patrick Salako's corner, 1-0 at half time. In the second half, Angels made some team changes and continued to make all the running, with Will Lynn getting the 2nd goal 5 minutes into the half. Man of the Match, Ben Boodle made it 3-0 when he rounded the keeper to calmly slot it in to the net. Colts pulled a goal back before an excellent move involving Charlie Wilson, Luke French, Oliver Markides & Connor Ward, whose cross was met by Boodle, whose header came back off the post for James Annely to slot it home, making it 4-1 to the Angels

Battlebridge 0-7 Tonbridge Angels
Angels made it 16 wins from 17 games with an excellent performance against 3rd place Battlebridge. Battlebridge had the better of the opening 10 minutes but after putting Connor Ward back in centre of midfield with Joe Paisley, the Angels were a completely different team. After good work down the left by Alfie Leslie, who's layback was crossed in by Ben Browning, the Battlebridge defence did not deal with it and Tonbridge went 1 up thanks to an own goal. Angels with their passing football were ripping the opposition apart at will, with further goals from Ben Boodle, Michael Dale and Ward making it 4-0 at halftime. In the second half, with quick pass and move, one touch football, they created numerous chances, but the goal of the game came from Man of the Match, Charlie Wilson who got the ball in our penalty area, beat about five Battlebridge players, did a one-two with Boodle before placing it into the top corner. Further goals from Luke French and a 20 yard free kick from Browning, the Angels ran out 7-0 winners.
Goal scorers: Michael Dale, Ben Boodle, Connor Ward, Charlie Wilson, Luke French, Ben Browning, 1 own goal

Tonbridge Angels 3-0 Selsdon Rangers B
Angels played their penultimate game of the season and their first for 6 weeks, against Selsdon Rangers - it is always a pleasure to play Selsdon because they like to play football on the ground, so it makes it a good game. The Angels were a bit rusty after such a long time without a game, but they did manage to create 6 or 7 very good chances in the first half but only had the 2-0 score line at half time to show for it - the first, an own goal, and the second from Michael Dale. Second half, Angels again dominated the game with Ben Browning in goal, having very little to do thanks to the defence of Man of the Match Ryan Moran, Charlie Wilson, Sammie Burton, Harry Gill and sub Callum Luckett who all played well. The midfield of Joe Paisley, Patch Salako, Oliver Markides, Daryl Brown and sub Alfie Leslie all work very hard for each other and the team. Up front Michael Dale with 2 goals, James Annely and sub Ben Boodle were full of running, perhaps the 3-0 score line is not a true reflection of how well the team played.
Goal scorer: Michael Dale (2), 1 own goal
Man of the Match: Ryan Moran
